About Youth of India MUN:
Model United Nations conferences are a student simulation of the United Nations, wherein they step into the shoes of their favorite diplomats, parliamentarians, and press correspondents to develop innovative solutions to curb real-time global issues. MUNs are a platform through which one can hone one’s confidence, alongside learning soft skills like research, networking, public speaking, and social skills.
Through our Model United Nations conferences, we aim to provide an inclusive platform for the youth to come together and solve pressing global challenges through their innovative ideas. Keeping in mind the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, we function under the motto of engaging, empowering, and evolving. We hope to establish a genuine love for diplomacy and dialogue in the youth, to ensure a safe and sustainable future, with the primary aim lying in highlighting unity through diversity.
About YoIMUN 2023:
The inaugural Youth of India Model United Nations 2023 conference in the North Eastern region of India was a success, with over 425 delegates and an online engagement of over two million. The conference simulated ten UN committees, including the regional pioneer JCC (Join Crisis Committee), and was attended by global leaders and changemakers. It was graced by global leaders and changemakers such as Mr. Erik Solheim, Mr. Shombi Sharp, and Mr. Anubhav Dubey, among others. The connection mentioned above of YOI with the United Nations laid the path to greater exposure of our delegates to the world of real diplomacy, alongside changing the way MUNs are held in the Northeast. Advocated relentlessly by Mr. Erik Solheim among many other celebrities proves the authenticity of our conferences, which is so rare among the emerging business-style Model United Nations conferences.
The conference which was also one of the thematic events of G20 Civil (C20) featured speeches by C20 Sous Sherpa Mr. Kiran DM, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India Shri Shantanu Thakur and many others. A panel discussion on YOUth For LiFE had been organised on the sidelines of the C20. The Secretariat was sourced from pan-India, ensuring quality debate and cross-circuit engagement among participants.
