UnPlastic India

Launched in 2018 by the Youth of India Foundation, UnPlastic India is a transformative initiative aimed at combating the plastic pollution crisis through nature-based, sustainable solutions. The campaign inspires individuals and communities to completely eliminate single-use plastics from their daily lives. By advocating for practical and eco-friendly alternatives — such as bamboo, jute, and recycled materials — UnPlastic India offers simple yet powerful substitutes for commonly used plastic products. It empowers people to make conscious choices that reduce environmental harm while embracing traditional, biodegradable options.

To amplify its impact, UnPlastic India has partnered with 100+ educational institutions, sparking grassroots movements across schools, colleges, and communities. The initiative actively organizes plastic-free challenges, including the UNEP Tide Turners Challenge, along with clean-up drives and plastic waste recycling programs. These efforts not only raise awareness but also embed the values of sustainability and environmental responsibility into the hearts of young people. Through UnPlastic India, we envision a future where sustainable living becomes a nationwide lifestyle, leading India towards a cleaner, greener, and more resilient tomorrow.
