Back in 2015, when Nepal was struck by a series of devastating earthquakes, we initiated a unique and heartfelt campaign known as the Pocket Money Campaign. What made this initiative stand out was its simplicity and inclusivity — it was a zero-cost movement that encouraged students to contribute small amounts from their daily pocket money, often just coins. In an inspiring show of solidarity and compassion, over 2,000 students came together, raising a total of ₹1,50,000 within just 10 days. This effort not only provided much-needed aid but also demonstrated the powerful impact of collective youth action.
The Pocket Money Campaign gained widespread recognition for its innovation, scalability, and deep-rooted empathy. It was invited by the United Nations General Assembly, marking a proud moment on the global stage. Furthermore, it earned the distinction of being acknowledged among the “World’s Top 5 Campaigns,” highlighting how grassroots efforts led by young people can make a meaningful difference in times of crisis. This campaign remains a shining example of youth-led change and continues to inspire our mission to empower young minds for global good.
