Skilling Youth For Green Hydrogen side-event in partnership with YPFP Tokyo
for LCOY Japan leading to COP27
Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) Tokyo is official endorsed by the United Nations to organise and host a Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) for Japan, leading up to COP27. YPFP Tokyo is convening Japan’s LCOY programming during the week of 22-30 October 2022.
As Youth For Green Hydrogen is a partner of YPFP Tokyo in the LCOY Japan leading to COP27, we hosted a side-event on Skilling Youth For Green Hydrogen on October 25, 2022. LCOY is umbrella of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It represents a national version of the international Conference of Youth (COY), which takes place immediately before the Conference of Parties (COP), the annual UN-Climate Conference; we are hosting a side event during the given conference contributing our efforts to COP27.
We organised the side-event with imminent speakers like Jonas Moberg, CEO, Green Hydrogen Organisation, Chizoba Nzeakor, Youth For Green Hydrogen Nigerian Advocate, Ravi Karkara, Sustainability Champion from Chicago and Namsel Bhutan.
The speakers addressed on the importance of the youth leadership in ESG and stressed on the fact that “advocating for climate change is important but championing climate change even with solutions is important.” Jonas Moberg
Further, Chizoba from Nigeria highlighted on the importance of the necessity of developing a global network of young people in nestling youth-led innovation on Green Hydrogen and to implement the declaration by engaging more African voices.
Mr. Karkara shared on the urgent need to skill young people in Green Hydrogen towards the Green Economy through Innovation & Skills Training Center on Green Hydrogen. He urged governments and entrepreneurs to come together in skilling and training young people, the future stakeholders for the Green Jobs.
Today, we also signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Royal Thimpu College, Bhutan. Mr. Tandin, President of Royal Thimpu College Bhutan signed the partnership between Youth For Green Hydrogen and Royal Thimpu College.
