The Youth of India Foundation, born out of the innovative spirit of the Youth of Siliguri in 2015 has blossomed into a recognized force for youth empowerment and social change. Our journey began with a simple “NO” being transformed into a “New Opportunity” – a philosophy that continues to drive our mission, even as we turn 10 today.
The video encapsulates our journey perfectly: we engage with people from all walks of life, looking for stories to inspire and be inspired, to create impact, to change worlds, and to bring smiles to more and more faces.
From school simulations to the United Nations, from the streets of Siliguri to the streets of Chicago, it’s been a long journey, but one we would undertake over and over again. Our dedication to youth engagement, skill development, and sustainable solutions has earned us numerous accolades, with some of them being awarded the Top 5 World’s Best Campaign by the UN for our “The Pocket Money Campaign” for Nepal relief, Special accreditation by the United Nations for our contributions to various global initiatives, Featured at the World’s First Climate Action Summit in the UN General Assembly for our “UnPlastic India” initiative, an invitation from the Deputy Prime Minister of Spain to participate in the Green Hydrogen Assembly and launch the World’s First Youth Declaration on Green Hydrogen, and Endorsement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji in “Mann Ki Baat” updates. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision for India’s centenary year, we strive to Engage, Empower, and Evolve the youth of India through our various programs. We focus on Renewable Energy in Championing “Youth for Green hydrogen” to decarbonize the future, Rural Livelihoods by amplifying rural voices with initiatives like “UnPlastic India” and “Kulhad” to empower local communities, Education by Equipping young minds through scholarship programs, skilling initiatives, and the “G.R.E.E.N. School” project, and Community Mobilization by Fostering active citizenship through campaigns like “The Pocket Money Campaign”, “Share One Plant One”, “The Gandhi Talks” and “Youth Ki Baat.”
With chapters in Africa, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal, our impact borders over 78+ countries. We work across 20 states and 2 UTs in India, collaborating with over 140 educational institutions and a dedicated volunteer base of 200,000+.
We prioritize serving marginalized communities, skilling young groups, and providing sustainable solutions for a decarbonized future.
Here’s to 10 (and counting) years of being the change we wanted to see in the world, all through grace, faith, and YOUR love & support!
